Tom Perdue was raised in Eagle Point where he excelled as a 4-year letterman in football, baseball, and basketball at EPHS. Tom moved to Medford in 1961 and attended Southern Oregon University, where he obtained a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education. Tom was a teacher, coach, and administrator in the Central Point School System for 32 years, retiring in 1999. He began his officiating career in 1968, working until sidelined by a back injury in 1998.

Accomplishments:

  • 30-year member of the Rogue Valley Basketball Officials Association; Oregon School Activities Association; National Federation of State High School Associations; National Federation Interscholastic Officials Association and 17-year member of the Oregon Collegiate Commissioner’s Association.
  • Recipient of the National Federation Interscholastic Officials Association, State of Oregon Distinguished Service Award representing all basketball officials (1989).
  • NFIOA Distinguished Service Award in section 8 area (Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming) presented at National Convention in St. Luis in 1989.
  • 33 League/District Championship Playoffs Officiated; 17 Leage/District Championships officiated; 16 State Tournaments officiated; 10 State Championship Finals officiated; A Girls State1 final; AAA Girls State 2 finals; AAAA Girls State 3 Finals; A Boys State 1 Finals; AAA Boys State 3 Finals.
  • Officiated in NAIA Easter and Western Division Playoffs for 17 years.
