Prince Gary Callison, Medford Sports Hall of FamePrink lettered three years in football and basketball at Eugene High School, serving as team captain his senior year, before attending the University of Oregon as a four-year letterman in football.  He also played two seasons, 1919 and 1920, for the Olympic Club in San Francisco.

In 1923 he arrived on the Medford scene taking on the responsibilities of all four major sports for the Medford Tigers. Four times the Tiger eleven captured the Western Oregon gridiron championship and each time they were voted the strongest team in the state by leading sport critics; twice his basketball teams captured the Oregon state title, once they were runner-up for the same honor and three times they placed third in the state hoop tournament.  Out of 19 campaigns in all four major sports in the Southern Oregon Conference his men were victorious 18 times. His football teams amassed the best record in the State of Oregon up to that time, winning 45 of 49 games. Prink became widely known as the leading prep school mentor on the Pacific Coast.

Following his years as head coach at Medford High, Prink returned to the University of Oregon as head coach in 1932. He is now retired and living at Laguna Hills in California. I would like to share with you a part of his acceptance letter into our newly formed Medford Sports Hall of Fame. “My memories of my six years at Medford are among the most pleasant of my entire Athletic life. The loyalty of the ‘Team’ members and the backing of the Medford Community was superb, like no other place I have experienced. I was fortunate in having such great material. My best wishes to another Hundred successful years for Medford.”
