Paul Joseph Hoffard
Paul, known better as Hoosier, started his career in Portland playing semi-pro ball. He played for one year with the Portland Beavers then was farmed to the Idaho League. He was imported into the Rogue Valley to play baseball with Southern Oregon Baseball association, which spanned a period of over 30 years, included being player-manager for the Medford Rogues, Medford Craters and Central Point Cheney Studs. In 1927 his Medford team and in 1930 his Eagle Point Cheesemaker team won the Oregon Semi-Pro Championships. Hoosier consistently led the Southern Oregon league in batting averages, with averages seldom under 300 and one year he reached 555 average.
Hoosier was named to the Southern Oregon League All Stars in 1934 and served as Southern Oregon League President.
