Paul W. Haviland

Paul W. Haviland, Medford Sports Hall of FameAthletics in Medford have long enjoyed the support of many people but probably few have contributed more greatly than Paul Haviland who played football for Washington High in Portland, Oregon and later attending the Northwestern School of Law at the University of Portland.

Paul has been equally active in his support of athletics at Medford High and St. Mary’s High of Medford.  Other academic programs enjoying the support of this man are the University of Portland, Oregon State, University of Oregon and Southern Oregon University.  He has supported all high school athletics in the Medford area since 1947, being one of the organizers of the Medford Linebackers and serving as program chair one year and two terms as President.  In addition to contributions, he as active in soliciting funds for the construction of Medford high Stadium (now Spiegelberg Stadium), Medford High basketball seats, Medford High all-weather track and the new Medford High Stadium lights.

For 26 years, Paul raised funds for St. Mary’s High school annual Athletic Banquets and supported other St. Mary’s athletic programs since 1947.
