Mike “Vandy” Vanderhoff
Mike “Vandy” Vanderhoff’s basketball skills were first noticed as a 10-year-old 5th grader at the South Medford Hoop Camp. Coach Dennis Murphy recently stated that Mike was one of the top 3 payers he has coached in the 37 years of coaching. Vandy finished his Panther career as the leading scorer in the program. Today he ranks 4th in total points (1228), 9th in assists and #1 in steals in the 24-year history of South Medford basketball in 3 years of varsity action. Mike played basketball at Western Oregon for 3 years, garnering 3rd team and Honorable Mentions All-American honors.

- Selected to play in the 1996 OHSCA 24th Gatorade 4A basketball series
- 1996 leading scorer in the OSSAA State Championship Tournament; 1st team All-Tournament
