Duke Anderson

Duke Anderson, Medford Sports Hall of FameDuke was involved in the fast pitch softball leagues in Medford from 1963-1983. He was pitcher on the Medford Blitz team that took 2nd in the nation in 1980 and 5th  in 1985. Duke began his coaching career in 1980, when he and Ben Fagone started the fast pitch program at Medford Senior High. Duke continued to coach for the Black tornado through 2007.

Accomplishments:

  • Pitching and hitting coach for Medford High and North Medford High from 1980-2008
  • 30 First Team All-Conference pitchers; 7-1st Team All- State Pitchers
  • All-Conference other than Black Tornado- 9  All-State other than Black tornado- 4
  • 14 Former players have pitched Collegiately
  • 2009 Taylor Schmidt- Player of the Year State of Oregon
  • 2012 Marissa Becker- Gatorade Player of the Year in State of Oregon
  • 2012 Marissa Becker- Pitcher of the Year in State of Oregon
  • 2012 Taylor Schmidt- NAIA 2nd Tean All-American, CCC Pitcher of the Year, NFCA All-Region
