Robert Palouse, Medford Sports Hall of FameIn 1932, 10 Medford businessmen, long time football fans, met to select the best All-Time, All-Star Medford football team, going back to the year 1913. Bob was a unanimous choice for his athletic exploits from 1911 to 1914.

Graduating from Medford High where he had been an outstanding end, Bob entered Stanford University. At Palo Alto, he quickly became the mainstay of the Stanford Indians for all of the four years between 1915 and 1918. For his last two years at Stanford, he was named All-Coast.

The nearest thing to pro football was the “Athletic Club” football, played in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle and Portland. Playing for the Multnomah Athletic Club, Bob finished out his football career as a star “Club” player.

It is believed the family spelled their name Pelouze. Every effort has been made to locate some surviving family member, without success, but the memory of Bob Palouse burns brightly in football history.
