Jerry was born and raised in Grants Pass, OR. He grew up fishing the Rogue River and hunting in the Cascades. He was fortunate to get into radio as an intern while still in high school. After graduating, he was hired full time and soon was balancing radio and classes at SOC. While at KYJC, he was an active participant in fundraising efforts, raising over $1.2 million dollars as the radio station’s leader. He was a DJ in both the Rogue Valley and later in Eugene before returning to Medford to begin his sports broadcasting career.

Accomplishments:

• President and Program Director, Medford Linebackers 1982-1984.
• From 1970- 1987, Jerry Voiced 932 live events in Medford football, basketball, baseball, American Legion Mustangs, Medford A’s baseball and the Pear Blossom Road run.
• In 1987, he became the radio play-by-play “Voice of the Ducks” in football, basketball, and baseball.
• Presented over 400 football games, 1,000 basketball games and countless baseball games.
• This fall is his 37^th year in the booth, the longest tenured broadcaster in the Pac-12 and longest broadcaster in the U of O history.
• Broadcasted 3 Rose Bowl Championships, 2 NCAA National Bow, Championship football games and 4 Elite 8 and one Final four basketball Championship during March Madness
• Selected for 13 consecutive seasons by the OSAA for the highest level of high school.
• Selected the 2017 Sports Broadcaster of the Year by the Oregon Association of Broadcasters, the highest professional recognition given in Oregon to honor newspaper, magazine, radio, TV, and electronic media sports professionals.
• Selected by the Oregon Association of Broadcasters as “Oregon Broadcast Heritage Award” winner in 2019.
