Jim Wise

Jim was born in Redmond, OR in 1946 moving to Medford in 1954. Jim attended Roosevelt Grade School, Hedrick Junior High, and Medford High School graduating in 1964. He then attended Southern Oregon College for two years before transferring to Oregon State University to complete his degree in 1968. Jim then entered the Naval Aviation Flight Program in 1968 and became a Radar Intercept Officer (RIO) in F-4 Phantoms. During his 5 ½ years in the Navy, he accumulated 1000 hours of jet time, 365 carrier landings and 266 combat missions during the Vietnam War. After leaving the Navy, Jim became a Golf Professional at RVCC. He retired from RVCC in 2012 after 40 years of service to the members of the Rogue Valley Country Club.

  • OSU letterman senior year
  • Assistant golf professional Rogue Valley Country Club in April 1973
  • Class A member of the Professional Golf Association in 1976
  • Officiated as a rule’s official in many Pac NW sections as well as Web.com qualifies for the Fred Meyer Challenge with top line PGA tour players
  • Currently represents the Pac NW rules committee in Southern Oregon and Northern California
  • Ran the Southern Oregon gold championships from 1973 through 2012 (40 Years)
  • Ran the entire golf operation for RVCC for 40 years, which included the lesson program, the driving range, golf cart rentals, tee times management, merchandising of the golf shop, the tournament program, and the junior golf program
